Fabulous young pianists
Bärenreiter prizes presented at Carl Bechstein Competition in Berlin
Impressive performances were given by young pianists at the 4th Carl Bechstein Competition which was designated for children and adolescents. This competition took place from 17 to 19 November 2017 in Berlin. 62 participants in four age categories were allowed to perform in the finale which took place at Schloss Britz in a “culture barn”. They demonstrate their pianistic skills to a five-member jury headed by Gesa Lücker. The level was remarkably high in all age groups.
The lucky winners played in the closing concert on 19 November. 15 of the participants received a "Bärenreiter Urtext Prize", a generous voucher of sheet music, including Hanna Schwalbe from Hamburg (photo) who won the first prize in the age group 4.
