Young pianists at their best
Bärenreiter Prize at the Beethoven Competition in Bonn
At the grand finale of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Beethoven's native city of Bonn (Germany), one could sense the tension. Three of the twenty-one pianists from Asia, Europe and America qualified for the finale on 14 December, playing Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos. 3, 4 and 5 with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn under the baton of Dirk Kaftan. The first prize went to Cunmo Yin from China (photo 2nd from left), the second prize and the audience prize were awarded to Yuto Takezawa from Japan (right) and the third prize went to Shihyun Lee from South Korea (left). Johannes Mundry (Bärenreiter public relations) presented all three finalists with a Bärenreiter Urtext Prize in the form of a voucher for Bärenreiter sheet music to the value of EUR 500.
