Bärenreiter music editorial department

Claudia Mücke is new director

In May Claudia Mücke was appointed as the new director of the Bärenreiter music editorial department. Her work at Bärenreiter began in 2006, initially as a trainee and assistant editor. Since 2009 she has been an editor for stage works and solo voice repertoire. Claudia Mücke majored in Musicology whilst also studying Media and Communications and Specialised English Translation at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. As part of this degree, she spent a year at the University of Sheffield.

Alongside her work at Bärenreiter, she completed a Master's degree in Cultural Management at the Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg. The main focus of her work as an editor, in addition to the orchestral parts for stage works, has been on editions of Franz Schubert's and Robert Schumann's lieder, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's concert arias as well as several volumes of series such as  "OPERA" and "Masterpieces of Italian Opera".

Bärenreiter Managing Director Clemens Scheuch on the new appointment: "The fact that Claudia Mücke, an experienced and highly esteemed colleague, is taking over the management of the music editorial department is an absolute boon for our company. The task of maintaining and further developing our publishing catalogue is now in the best hands with Claudia and our music editorial team."

Bärenreiter’s music editorial department currently consists of thirteen editors who ensure the consistent quality of the editions, which are highly regarded worldwide.
