Special prize for the winner

Bärenreiter supports the “German Conducting Award 2023”

The Peruvian conductor Dayner Tafur-Díaz is the winner of this year’s German Conducting Award, an international competition for young conductors organised by the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat). Dayner Tafur-Díaz was presented with a generous first prize of EUR 15.000. The second prize went to Nathanaël Iselin (France) and the third prize to Claudio Novati (Italy). The Kurt Masur audience award for the final concert was also given to Dayner Tafur-Díaz. This concert in the Cologne Philharmonie was preceded by a week-long competition. Twelve international conductors took part and worked with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, the WDR Symphony Orchestra and singers from the Cologne Opera.

In addition Dayner Tafur-Díaz (photo: Claus Langer) was granted the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize consisting of a generous voucher for Bärenreiter sheet music.
