The composer Manfred Trojahn turns 70

On 22 October composer Manfred Trojahn, born in 1949 in Cremlingen near Braunschweig, celebrates his 70th birthday. His extensive output encompasses all genres. As well as five operas, he has written five symphonies and other orchestral works with and without soloists, as well as chamber music, and vocal and ensemble works for a wide variety of forces.

Trojahn draws inspiration for his compositions from various different sources: the German-Austrian traditions, Mediterranean culture, Italian literature and opera, classical mythology and the legacy of the avantgarde from Ligeti to Henze.
