Bärenreiter Prizes at the International Bach Competition 2022 in Leipzig

37 highly talented musicians from 19 countries competed for prizes in the categories piano, harpsichord and violin/baroque violin at the XXIII International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition 2022 which took place from 17 to 23 July. 18 young musicians from 13 nations reached the finals. The winners were Olga Davnis (18) from Russia in the category piano, Alexander von Heißen (27) from Germany in the category harpsichord and Charlotte Spruit (21) from the Netherlands in the category violin/baroque violin.

The Bärenreiter Urtext prizes comprising generous sheet music vouchers were awarded by the jury to Olga Davnis (piano), Tung-Han Hu from Taiwan (29, harpsichord) and Anna Perl from Germany (21, violin, on the photo [Gert Mothes] with Bärenreiter’s editor Damian Poloczek).
