Bärenreiter prizes presented at Violin Competition in Augsburg
For the 10th time the elite of up and coming violinists from all over the world came to Augsburg (Germany) to participate in the Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition. 28 violinists qualified for the finals which were held from 31 May to 8 June 2019. The competition is named after and honors Leopold Mozart, composer, violinist and the father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was born in Augsburg on 24 November, 300 years ago.
Bärenreiter donated three "Bärenreiter Urtext” prizes to this prestigious competition in the form of generous vouchers for Bärenreiter editions. At the festive closing concert, Ulrike Schermuly (Director of Communications at Bärenreiter) presented them to the three winners: the first prize was won by Joshua Brown (USA, photo left), the second and third prizes went to Karisa Chiu (USA, middle) and Kaoru Oe (Japan, right) respectively.
