The largely unknown instrumental piece for two flutes, clarinet, and string quartet, La Notte, Temporale, Preghiera, Caccia, written by Rossini in approx. 1813, has been published for the first time in the first volume of the Works of Gioachino Rossini.

Correction of Errors

At the beginning of the Duet for Figaro and the Count in Il barbiere di Siviglia, notice the correction in the bass at m. 8. This was emended by Rossini himself in his autograph manuscript when he realised that the bass note at m. 6 would resolve incorrectly if he left it unchanged at m. 8. Previous editions have misinterpreted this passage.
