Biographies, correspondence, portraits
The lives of the great composers are treated in several different ways in our book programme. Not only do we publish complete accounts of a composer's life, works and personality – sometimes in narrative form, sometimes with a more scholarly emphasis – we also present composer handbooks, (auto)biographies and editions of correspondence, providing a cultural panorama of the era in which the composer lived.
Besides shedding revealing light on the professional life, work and art of world-famous performers, our artist portraits offer a multitude of practical tips that make them useful guidebooks for musicians everywhere.
Discover Bärenreiter’s large selection of biographies and artist's portraits by browsing our catalogues or by visiting our Shop. You will find new publications here.
