Biography

1946Born in Neumarkt St. Veit/Upper Bavaria on May 10th
1965-1968Studied music theory and composition with Fritz Büchtger and violin with Erich Keller as part of the Munich Waltershausen Seminar
1966Highschool graduation at the “Musisches Gymnasium”, Munich
1968-1972Violin studies with Heinz Endres and composition studies with Günter Bialas at the State School for Music, Munich
1970First prize in the composition competition for the 20th anniversary of the Südwest- deutsches Kammerorchester, Pforzheim (Southwest German Chamber Orchestra)
1971Richard Strauss Prize from the city of Munich
1972State Exam in composition at the State School for Music, Munich
1972–1974Grant from the DAAD (“German Academic Foreign Service”) for work at the Institute for Sonology at the Utrecht University (studio for electronic music)
1974Support prize for young composers of classical music from the city of Stuttgart
Moving to Zurich
