Jean Barraqué at “Ultraschall” Berlin
Works by the French composer Jean Barraqué (1928-73) form a main focus at this year’s “Ultraschall” Festival for New Music from 20–29 January 2012 in Berlin. The programme even includes some premieres of previously unperformed
works: the choral works Ecce videmus eum and La nature s’ést prise aux filets da ta vie (20.1.2012, RIAS Kammerchor, conductor: Hans-Christoph
Rademann) and early songs (26.1.12., Christiane Iven, voice, and Nicolas Hodges, piano).
German premieres include the String Quartet (21.1.12 Quatuor Diotima) and early piano pieces (26.1.12, Nicolas Hodges). Carolin Widmann also performs Barraqué’s Sonate pour violon seul on 21 January.
