Charlotte Seither in Kassel
Composer in residence during dOCUMENTA (13)
Charlotte Seither is composer-in-residence in the accompanying programme “neue musik in der kirche” in the Protestant Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck which forms part of the dOCUMENTA 13 exhibition in Kassel. In a series of twelve concerts entitled “Weg mit Abschied”, an extensive retrospective with twenty-three works by the com-poser, including four premieres, can be heard in St. Martin’s Church. The premiere of “Gehen lassen”. Feinstaub for voice with hand percussion will be given on 17 June 2012 by Traudl Schmaderer. Cry for violin solo receives its first performance on 28 July 2012 from Hanna Weirich. An educational project reaches its culmination on 5 September 2012 with the first performance of Fünf Stücke um den Fluss zu queren [Five pieces to cross the river] with the orchestra of the Wilhelmsgymnasium Kassel, conducted by Christopher Hilmes. A sound installation (Crossing/Space) completes the programme in St. Martin’s Church. The Artistic Director of the project series is Eckhard Manz.
