Prestigious awards for Bärenreiter editions
Two awards in the “Best Edition 2013” category
Two of Bärenreiter-Verlag’s 2012 publications have been awarded the “Best Edition Prize” by the German Music Publishers’ Association.
The Urtext edition of the opera La Calisto is the first volume of a complete publication of all the operas by the Italian Baroque composer Francesco Cavalli (1602–1676). The edition Francesco Cavalli – Opere has already been acclaimed as a milestone in the rediscovery of the composer. No less than 30 operas survive from his output.
The prestigious facsimile of the manuscript of Richard Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde (editor: Ulrich Konrad) includes not only the complete score, but also the concert ending of the Prelude in autograph manuscript, as well as three pages that Wagner rejected while composing and later used for sketches.
