Founding of the record company Bärenreiter-Musicaphon.


1962

Editions Bärenreiter Paris is founded in Paris (located in Tours from 1971–1980).


1963

Founding of Bärenreiter Ltd. London (now in Harlow, Essex).


1964

The first volume of the New Schubert Edition (Schubert – Die Dokumente seines Lebens) is published.

Bizet’s opera Carmen is performed for the first time at the National Theatre Mannheim using the critical new edition by Fritz Oeser (Alkor-Edition).


1965

In Kassel the company Disco-Center is founded for the Bärenreiter labels “Cantate” and “Musicaphon” as well as for over thirty other record companies.

The old bookbinding barracks are replaced by a new building.


1966

The first volume of the Complete Works of Franz Berwald (string quartets) is published.

The new buildings are completed. The publishing house buildings as they stand are still all in use today.


1967

The first volume of the New Berlioz Edition (Grande Symphonie Funèbre et Triomphale) appears.
