L’Opéra français

„L’Opéra français“ is a series which makes accessible the extensive repertoire of French opera from the 19th and early 20th centuries.  The opera edition, edited by Paul Prévost and supported by the Musica Gallica foundation, will publish works by Auber, Bizet, Chabrier, Gounod, Massenet, Saint-Saëns, Thomas and other composers. Many of these works were part of the standard repertoire in their day. Opera houses now have the opportunity of reviving these works, using editions which reflect with the latest state of musicological research. The first volume, Adolphe Adam’s comic opera „Le Toréador ou l’Accord parfait”, was published in 2009, Édouard Lalo’s „Fiesque” in 2012 and „L'Étoile“ by Emmanuel Chabrier in 2014.
