Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683–1764)
  • As a result of a cooperation with the Société Jean-Philippe Rameau (Paris) , Bärenreiter starts exclusively to distribute the Rameau Complete Edition (Opera omnia). Anacréon, is the first volume to be published.

2005

The first page of the autograph manuscript of Bach’s aria “Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn’ ihn”
  • Johann Sebastian Bach’s strophic aria Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn’ ihn is discovered and published as a practical performing edition as well as a facsimile edition.

  • The Halle Handel Edition celebrates its 50th anniversary. Since the beginning of the edition, 64 volumes and 5 supplementary volumes have been published.

  • Bärenreiter takes over exclusive and worldwide distribution of the new Critical Edition of the Complete Works of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

2006

Entry from 27 January in the Mozart Calendar 2006
  • During the Mozart anniversary year 2006, the New Mozart Edition is available in its entirety once again. Numerous new music and book publications are published including an eight-volume paperback edition (in association with dtv) Mozart. Briefe und Aufzeichnungen, confirming Bärenreiter’s reputation as “the publisher of Mozart”.  

  • A ceremony in London marks the completion of the New Berlioz Edition.

2007

  • Bärenreiter-Verlag is awarded the George Philipp Telemann Prize by the city of Magdeburg.

  • A ceremony in June in Leipzig marks the completion of the New Bach Edition.

  • The New Mozart Edition is completed. This is marked by a celebratory event in June in Leipzig.

  • Bärenreiter expands its publishing programme by embarking on a new historical-critical edition – the Opere di /Works of Gioachino Rossini. The first volume contains chamber music without piano.

  • Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle receives the title of honorary professor of the Federal State of Hesse for her special contribution to scholarship and art.

2008

First volume of the complete edition of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s letters
  • The second edition of MGG is completed; 29 volumes have been published.

  • The first volume of the eleven-volume Complete Vocal Works of Johann Pachelbel is published.

  • The first volume of the complete edition of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s letters appears.

2009

Critical commentary to the new edition of Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia”
  • A new edition of the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia is published in the series Works of Gioachino Rossini, which meets the demands of modern scholarship as well as the needs of performers.
