Jacques Offenbach (1819–1880)
  • Leonhard Scheuch joins the management.

  • At the Vienna Volksoper, Jacques Offenbach’s opera The Tales of Hoffmann is performed for the first time using the new edition by Fritz Oeser (Alkor-Edition).

Schubert, Lieder, Vol. 4
  • In cooperation with the publisher G. Henle, the first volume of Franz Schubert’s Lieder appears.

Leoš Janácek (1854–1928)
  • The first volumes of the Complete Critical Edition of the Works of Leoš Janáček are published (in cooperation with Editio Supraphon Praha).
