The children’s song book Der Liederbär, published in 2001, quickly became one of Bärenreiter’s most successful publications in German-speaking countries. It contains over 400 songs in nine thematic sections, a treasure trove of the immense wealth of song from Germany and many other countries. Old, familiar folksongs take their place alongside new songs. All songs are in comfortable keys for singing and contain chord symbols for accompaniment on guitar or piano.
The attractive, colourful illustrations are by the well-known children’s illustrator Charlotte Panowsky.
2007 saw the publication of the Weihnachts-Liederbär along with a separate piano edition.
