International Heinrich Schütz Society

The International Heinrich Schütz Society was founded in 1930 as the “Neue Schütz-Gesellschaft” by Hans Joachim Moser, Fritz Schmidt and Karl Vötterle. Its headquarters are in Kassel, Schütz’s first place of work. Today there are divisions in twelve countries with members from all over the world. The society’s aim is to preserve and promote the works of Heinrich Schütz. It organises regular smaller “Heinrich Schütz Days” as well as larger-scale Heinrich Schütz Festivals each with a different focus.
