SERGEI RACHMANINOFF

Russian Music Publishing

RMP was founded in Moscow in 1992. It follows in the tradition of the world-renowned Rossijskoe muzykal´noe izdatel´stvo, founded by S. A. and N. K. Koussevitzky in 1909. The publisher owed its ties with many of the world‘s leading composers to a close working relationship with Sergei Rachmaninoff. The publishing house quickly became a center for composers of the Russian avant-garde, issuing such epoch-making works as Alexander Scriabin‘s Prometheus, Igor Stravinsky‘s Petrouchka, Le Sacre du Printemps, Oedipus Rex and Pulcinella, and many works by Sergei Prokofiev.
The present-day Russian Music Publishing was newly established by the publisher and musicologist Dmitri Dmitriev, in 2005 Alexandre Rachmaninoff became part owner of the publishing house. Russian Music Publishing upholds the ideals set down some 100 years ago: to publish the legacy of Russian classical composers in editions of the very highest quality.
