Leonhard Lechnerum 1553-1606 Leonhard Lechner · Works Commisioned by the International Heinrich Schütz Society, edited by Konrad Ameln |
|
This critical edition of the works of Leonhard Lechner makes all the extant compositions of this significant German composer, in the age before Heinrich Schütz, accessible for the first time
to a general public. It includes his entire œuvre, whether issued in print or surviving in manuscript.
In order to make the musical text immediately useful for performance purposes it is presented in standard clefs, shortened not-values and a modern layout in score, though with ›Mensurstrichen‹ instead of bar lines. Each volume contains an accompanying remark by the editor on the significance and position of the works in music history, as well as a critical report and a characteristic sampling of sources in facsimile. |
The edition comprises fourteen volumes of music. This series is complete. |
