The Editors
Wolfgang Hirschmannstudied musicology, modern German
literary history and theatre studies at the Friedrich-Alexander-
University Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he worked at the Institut für
Musikwissenschaft as academic councillor and guest professor. In 2007
he was appointed to the chair of Historical Musicology at the Martin-
Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. He specialises in 17th and 18th
century music history and the history of music theory in the medieval
and early modern periods.
Thomas Röder studied at the Nuremberg Conservatory and the
University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is a research assistant at the
Institut für Musikwissenschaft at the Friedrich-Alexander-University
Erlangen-Nuremberg. His fields of research include the music history
of Nuremberg and Augsburg in the 16th and 17th centuries as well
as the music of Anton Bruckner.
Katharina Larissa Paech studied musicology, church music and
historic keyboard instruments in Berlin, Würzburg and Graz. She
obtained a doctorate at the Kunstuniversität Graz in 2006 with a
dissertation on the sacred vocal music of Johann Pachelbel. As a
scholar and musician, she specialises in 17th century music. She is also
active as an instrumental teacher and church musician.
